Communication Studies

As it is explored at Randolph, the field of communication studies examines the ancient study of persuasive techniques—called rhetoric—as well as the relationships among media, messages, and audiences.

Communication studies students are encouraged to become thoughtful critics of the media and aware of the role communication has always played in society. Students develop analytical skills, examine theoretical concepts, explore research techniques, and gain practical experience through internships.

The department offers a bachelor of arts degree in communication studies,  concentrations in communication studies and film studies, and a minor in multimedia journalism.
